Referrals
*Dr Tomazzoni is currently accepting new patients. The wait time for new referrals is approximately 3 weeks.
Who can be referred
Referrals are welcome from GPs and other treating clinicians for adults who may benefit from psychiatric assessment, ongoing care, or psychotherapy‑informed treatment. I value collaborative work with referrers and aim to provide clear communication and thoughtful shared care where appropriate.
I work primarily with adults (18-65 years) experiencing mood, anxiety, psychosis, and relationship‑related difficulties, including those interested in engaging in regular psychotherapy as part of treatment. I am not currently the right clinician for primary management of drug and alcohol disorders or primary eating disorder management.
How to refer
Please send a referral letter via email with the patient’s contact details and relevant clinical information.
Please include:
the reason for referral,
the main concerns and any safety issues,
relevant psychiatric and medical history,
current medications,
whether the referral is for an opinion and report or for ongoing care,
and the patient’s phone number and email address.
Referral review
I review referrals personally to determine whether the referral is a good fit for my practice and whether I am able to offer an appointment. This helps ensure that patients are directed to a service that is appropriate for their needs and that referrals are accepted within the scope of my current practice.
If a referral appears suitable, the patient will be contacted regarding appointment availability, fees, and next steps. If you are unsure whether a referral may be appropriate, please feel free to contact me to discuss it.
Shared care
I value working collaboratively with GPs and other treating clinicians and see psychiatric care as part of a broader treatment relationship. Depending on the referral, I may provide an assessment and report, ongoing management, or treatment within a shared‑care arrangement. Please specify if your referral is for either ongoing care or an opinion and report.
